A few months ago, I joined the San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce. I was lucky enough to have a representative from the SFV Rescue Mission sit at my table. She invited me to do some volunteer photography for them. Today was my first opportunity to shoot for them, photographing the shower truck that travels around and offers not just showers, but clean towels and clothes to the community who needs it. I met the truck in a church parking lot in Chatsworth. In between shots of the truck and people receiving these gifts, we found time to do some fun, creative portraits. I wanted to show that even though they are homeless, they are unique individuals deserving of dignity and respect.
