Messed around with the 50mm lens for these images. It opens up to
1.2 but I stayed between 5.6 - 11 for these, departing from my usual
wide open aperture.
Like a late 80's movie of the week, at 20 years old I packed a suitcase and a guitar, bought an $89 ticket for a 3-day bus ride, and made the move from a mid-sized, mid-western town to the bright-lights, big-city scene. Over the course of the last 9 years, I've met many people who have inspired me, influenced me, and challenged me to trust and nurture my creativity. I went to school to be a writer. I joined a band. But... during those times, I took more pictures than I wrote papers or struck keys. My calling finally revealed itself to me. No matter what the assignment, how long it takes or how demanding, taking pictures never feels like work. And that's exactly the kind of job everyone dreams of having!
